Awareness Workshop on Covid-19 and Mask Distribution held for Rural Population

In the backdrop of the severe impact of the Covid-19 in the month of May 2021 during the second wave, continuing its momentum on managing the pandemic, Social Xleration held an awareness workshop on the Covid-19 in Sanauli hamlet, Block Banikodar, District Barabanki (Uttar Pradesh) on the 6th of May 2021. This session drew approximately 30 villagers. The major goal of this session was to inform locals about the devastation caused by the second wave of Covid-19 in the country, particularly in rural areas. Various demonstrations were held of the various methods of protecting themselves, especially washing hands, use of sanitizer, use of mask, and physical distancing.

Different aspects of Covid-19 were discussed in-depth, which comprised: how the virus spreads, mild, moderate, and severe symptoms, management of Covid-19, what to do when, precautions to be taken once tested positive, such as quarantining, Covid appropriate behavior, government-approved medicine kit, monitoring of SpO2 and temperature, and so on. They were informed about the testing facilities available at the community health center and district hospital as well as private laboratories that had been identified. They were also told that they should get immunized. They were all given masks and food in the end.
