Blankets Provided to Disadvantaged People

26 February 2021, New Delhi

Every year, the severe winter season in Delhi sees people across the board struggling to keep themselves warm and keep the cold weather-related illnesses at bay. While the privileged people are able to afford warm clothes and do so, there are numerous not so fortunate people who could not even afford a blanket to keep themselves warm. To help such people protect themselves sufficiently against the biting cold, Social Xleration’s partner Sai Sanskar Foundation organized a blanket donation drive for slum people in the Tughlakabad extension area of the city, in which numerous slum residents were provided blankets to keep themselves warm and illness-free during the winter season. This is more so important in the times of the Covid-19 pandemic. This drive was also extended to the children enrolled in Sai Sankar Foundation’s education initiative called ‘Paathshala’, where slum children are taught and supported for other needs. More than 75 children were provided warm blankets as part of this effort.
