The extreme winter months in Delhi are highly testing for people as they deal with the biting cold. The situation becomes more challenging for the lesser fortunate segments of the society particularly homeless people who struggle to stay warm and safe. To assuage the discomfort of such people, Social Xleration’s partner Sai Sanskar Foundation organized a blanket donation drive outside of the AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. Such an effort was also undertaken last year when slum people from the Tughlakabad extension area of the city were provided blankets in the winter. The blanket drive outside AIIMS saw 200 people being provided blankets, which included largely homeless people and some relatives of the patients admitted to the AIIMS. This effort will hopefully help them deal with the extreme cold and protect them from contracting cold weather-related illnesses.
