Less-Favored People Provided Food Regularly

15 March 2021, New Delhi

Proper nourishment is essential to life and is a basic right of every individual. Yet numerous people find themselves without adequate food and suffer various health repercussions as a result including malnourishment. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a highly adverse impact on marginalized people as many lost jobs and income-earning opportunities and struggling for proper food. To assist such people, Social Xleration partnered with Sai Sanskar Foundation. Starting January 2021, frequent drives have been organized to provide healthy nutrition, milk, and milk products to people in need of the same under the initiative called ‘Nivala’ covering various parts of Delhi. This includes the homeless, people involved in menial jobs including laborers and rickshaw-pullers, visually-challenged children, slum residents, and the elderly. The slum children associated with the Sai Sanskar Foundation’s education initiative called ‘Paathshala’ were also provided regular nutrition under this effort. This initiative helped more than 1,500 disadvantaged people.
