Sessions on Child Protection Conducted

11 and 26 January 2022, Varanasi and Unnao, Uttar Pradesh

Continuing its focus on enhancing awareness of child rights among different stakeholders, Social Xleration organized two awareness programs on the same in Varanasi and Unnao during the month of January 2022. On 11^th January 2022, a seminar was held at Manav Gaurav Nirman Sansthan in Varanasi during which a presentation was delivered on Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) or Child Protection Scheme (CPS). The seminar also saw a brief discussion on the classification of the child rights such as Right to Survival, Right to Develop, Right to Participate, and Right to Protection along with children eligible for Child Protection Services (children living in difficult circumstances). The departments/committees involved in implementing the ICPS were also mentioned. 20 social development professionals attended the seminar, who found the session highly beneficial. A similar awareness program was held at Shri Shivnandan Bal Vidya Mandir, Akbarpur, Unnao, on 26^th January 2022 for around 40 students and their teachers. Since it was the country’s Republic Day, flag hoisting and a small cultural program were also organized.
