Social Xleration Bolsters Fish Farming in Malkangiri District

Boosting farmers’ livelihoods through diversification by harnessing local opportunities has always been at the core of the Social Xleration strategy. Implementing this strategy, Social Xleration further intensified its effort to encourage fish farming in Malkangiri district for the fourth year. Targeting 150 farmers from the Paliguda, Rathoguda, Purnapani, Narsinghpur, Resettlement Colony – 10, 11, and 19 villages, Social Xleration provided 12,500 kg fingerlings of major Indian carps such as Rohu, Katla, Mrigal, Grass Carp, and Silver Carp on 12 July 2021. An awareness camp was also held by the Social Xleration team to educate farmers on detecting diseases in fish and timely treatment along with ways to boost fish growth. The Social Xleration team provides constant support and intends to amplify fish farming among farmers in the region.
