Social Xleration Holds Awareness Sessions during the World Breastfeeding Week

5 and 6 August 2022, Barabanki and Unnao districts, Uttar Pradesh

Every year from August 1 to 7, more than 120 nations around the world observe World Breastfeeding Week. The World Breastfeeding Week founded in 1991 by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), the World Health Organization (WHO), and UNICEF, set out to promote exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life. This practice has numerous health benefits, including the provision of vital nutrients, protection from deadly diseases like pneumonia, and support for growth and development.

Social Xleration organized awareness sessions on 5 and 6 August 2022 during the World Breast Feeding Week at the Composite School, Sanauli, Banikodar block of Barabanki district and Shivnandan Bal Vidya Mandir, Akbarpur, Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh respectively. The discussion included World Breastfeeding Week’s background, themes, and objectives. The common advantages and drawbacks of breastfeeding, as well as the duties of government agencies, health professionals, and civil society, were also covered. 140 people took part in these events.
