Social Xleration put together a conversation on the Challenges in Education System during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Barabanki area, which drew over 60 school teachers and principals. The key topics covered comprised how to keep children’s interest despite the lack of physical classes. People in rural areas are not technologically very savvy. This is a good opportunity for them to improve their ability to take online classes and connect with teachers. The main concerns mentioned were the lack of physical interaction between teachers and students, the inability of teachers to provide individual attention in online sessions, and the prevalence of internet troubles in remote locations. They shared that the online approach cannot effectively assess the kids’ physical, mental, and social awareness and attitudes. The teachers further added that the absence of periodic tests and assessments makes it impossible to accurately measure pupils’ curricular abilities. Participants decided to create an alternative plan for classroom teaching with the help of their department’s guidelines.
