Social Xleration in association with its partner Shreeranya Renewable India Pvt. Ltd. conducted the awareness sessions successfully on the threat of climate change and the importance of renewable energy technologies in various government and government-aided schools in New Delhi. The first awareness program was held at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pushp Vihar, New Delhi on 11th December 2019, followed by DAV Senior Secondary School, Jangpura on 11th February 2020, Sarvodaya Coed Vidyalaya, Masjid Moth, South Extension on 12th February 2020, and Government Coed Secondary School, Bhogal, Jangpura on 13th February 2020. The sessions were attended by more than 2000 school students and 30 teachers in all the schools combined.
The sessions were led by two climate change and renewable energy experts Mr. Manish K. Singh and Mr. Vineet Kumar having vast academic and industrial experience. The sessions dwelt on the threats of climate change, its cause, effects and solutions through the use of renewable energy technologies comprising wind energy, solar power, hydropower, bio-energy, energy through tides and waves, geothermal energy, etc. The experts while delivering the lectures used various live demo models of different renewable energy technologies to drive home the significance of these technologies effectively among the students. The sessions were interactive and participatory. Many students asked questions related to climate change, global warming, carbon footprint, carbon cycle, renewable energy, how wind turbine or solar panel works, etc. These sessions received a huge and positive response from the students and school teachers. The school principals acknowledged and thanked Social Xleration and Shreeranya Renewable India Pvt. Ltd. for conducting these sessions on such an important issue.
