World Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22 across the globe since 1970 as a measure to demonstrate and pledge support for environmental protection. On this occasion, Social Xleration joined hands with Devcon India Foundation and organized an event at Binapani Vidya Mandir, Tarlakota village, Malkangiri district, Odsiha. The event, attended by 200 students, was marked by a presentation on the relevance of Earth Day and urged the students to work towards environmental conservation. A strong message on ending plastic pollution was communicated to the students as per the theme of the Earth Day this year. Besides, topics like stopping forest fires and the preservation of water bodies were also discussed. A sapling plantation drive was undertaken as part of the event, which saw enthusiastic participation by the students.
